Ten Bob Note
Up at 06:00, topped up with water then out through Limehouse lock and onto the Thames at 07:00.
A pleasant trip up the Thames to Brentford. We missed Tower Bridge being raised by 25 minutes. Cruise ship Columbus was due to depart from HMS Belfast at 08:00 and the bridge was to be raised for her. As much as we would have liked to see the bridge being raised, it wouldn’t have been a good idea to hang around on the tidal Thames by Tower Bridge for 25 minutes.
Very disappointed in the state of the canal between Thames Locks and Brentford Locks, filthy would be the best way to describe it – some photos below. There is a huge improvement almost as soon as you exit Brentford locks.
