Wednesday 8th August 2007 Location: Rugeley, Staffs Today: 10 miles, 5 locks. Total distance: 383 miles. Total locks: 345 Warm with sunny spells. Travelled on down the Trent and Mersey on the way to Alrewas to meet up with Lindsay and Tom on Friday. They are visiting for the weekend. Will take the opportunity to stock up with meat from the excellent butcher at Alrewas. Will also stop off in Rugeley tomorrow to stock up from the supermarket there as it is a very short walk from the canal so is handy for carrying heavier items such as wine. |
