Saturday 15th September 2007 Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxford canal Today: 4 miles, 3 locks. Total distance: 564 miles. Total locks: 413 Warm, sunny spells. Good t-mobile 3g reception here Headed the short distance back to Banbury this morning to take on water etc. Turned at the winding hole just north of Banbury and headed back south where we moored on the outskirts of the town. It is about a 1 mile walk back to the Banbury train station. If Rhonda is not called on before hand, she will be getting the train to visit Lindsay on Tuesday morning. This is a real nice mooring spot here with fields for walking the dogs just a few feet away. It also only around a mile to the large Morrison’s store back in the town. Will probably stay on around here while Rhonda is away. The only problem being access to water as the nearest tap is back in Banbury. As we are facing south at the moment, we either have to travel about 7 miles and 4 locks, or, reverse back half a mile to the nearest winding hole so that we can turn to get back to Banbury. Sunday 16th Walked with dogs to Banbury to pick up the papers and some odds and ends from Morrison's. Changed the oil in the generator, it has now done 200 hours. Current mooring Canalside at Banbury |
