Thursday 25th October 2007 Location: Watford, Hertfordshire, Grand Union Today: 4 miles, 5 locks. Total distance: 844 miles. Total locks: 532 Cold grey damp day. Good t-mobile 3g reception here. It turned out to be a bit noisy where we were moored last night. The wide beam boat in front of us and the one behind were running their engines for battery charging until quite late. Pulled the pins around 08:30 and moved the half mile to the Rickmansworth Tesco so that Rhonda could pick up the papers and a few odds and ends. There is a mooring right outside the Tesco main door. Headed on northward with me driving the boat and Rhonda walking the dogs. Rhonda noticed a pile of wood in the undergrowth so I pulled in and picked it up (photo below). After mooring and having lunch, I fired up the generator and used my electric saw to cut the wood into logs. I was almost finished when the saw broke. Have had the saw for well over ten years and it has had a hard life so I can’t complain about it dying the way it did. Need to look out for a new saw now. Current mooring - the white patch on the ground is sawdust from cutting up the wood. Floating homes Floating home
What a mess!! There is no roof on it Strange boat with lots of windows
