The phone ----- well, after hanging around the Watford area for the best part of four weeks, the phone is back in my possession – and, guess what???? The original problem was that the battery when fully charged was lasting less than 24 hours. Well, on return of the phone, the battery, when fully charged is lasting less than 24 hours. A phone call to a manager at t-mobile finally revealed the answer – if Bluetooth and 3g are enabled, the battery drains quickly – great. I only selected the Nokia N79 as I wanted the 3.5g higher speed internet access. As it turns out, I now have a t-mobile USB dongle so the 3g reception is no longer a problem. With 3g and Bluetooth turned off, the battery does indeed last a lot longer. Moral of the story is – don’t buy a N79 if you want fast internet access through the phone as the battery won’t last!!!! A bit of a long journey for us today as we moved from just north of Uxbridge down to Kensal. We had planed to split the journey over two days but with the weather forecast for tomorrow not looking good, we did the whole trip today. Moored up at Kensal. This is the first time we have ever moored in this area. It’s surprisingly quiet considering where it is. Tuesday 21st. The weather forecast was right, it’s a touch on the wet side today so we were right to press on yesterday and make the whole trip in one go. View from the window
