11th June 2007 Location: Little Haywood, Staffs. N52:47:04 W1:58:46 Today: 11 miles, 7 locks. Total distance: 135 miles. Total locks: 96 Pulled the pins fairly early and headed west past Fradley Junction and on to Little Haywood. Moored up for the night at a lovely spot in the Trent Valley. The weather has been lovely and sunny since early morning. We stopped off at Rugeley to do a bit of shopping as there are a couple of supermarkets and some shops only 200 yards from the canal. We are heading for Penkridge to have a look at multi fuel stoves at the Midland chandlers. They are not the cheapest around but if the Braunston branch is anything to go by, they stock a very comprehensive range of stoves and have all of the bits and pieces needed for the installation of the flue etc. We took a chicken out of the freezer last night to thaw with the intention of having roast chicken this evening. As the weather is so nice, we have decided to BBQ it instead as it is too hot for a full roast dinner. Previous page -|- Next page -|- Index page |
