Location: North Kilworth, Leicestershire, Grand Union

Today: 10 miles, 10 locks. Total distance: 1075 miles.  Total locks: 701

Walked into the village in the morning with the dogs to pick up the papers and a few odds and ends.

Pulled the pins around 10:00 and headed for North Kilworth. Arrived at the Foxton flight with not another boat in site so had a quick passage up through the locks.

Tuesday 29th
Walked the bridal path to visit the butcher in South Kilworth and to pick up the papers. When we arrived at South Kilworth we found that the post office come stores has now closed down. Visited the butcher and bought some meat. We had been advised that the butcher was well worth a visit and it was good advice as the meat looked lovely and the prices are as good if not better than the big supermarkets - some info here.

After leaving the butcher we walked the two miles to North Kilworth to pick up the papers from the garage there. All in all, the round trip walk was a very pleasant 4 miles. There is footpath all the way from South Kilworth to North Kilworth and the road is fairly quiet.
