Tuesday 23rd September 2008 Location: Alrewas, Staffordshire, Trent and Mersey Canal Today: 2 miles, 7 locks. Total distance: 1734 miles. Total locks: 1228 Pulled the pins around 07:15 and headed down through the Fradley locks before the rush starts. Met John on nb Gemma Joy (cotswoldman on the canal world forum ). John kindly helped us down through a couple of locks at Fradley Junction. Moored up about a mile west of Alrewas and walked the dogs into the village. Called into the butcher and picked up a few odds and ends for the BBQ this evening. The butcher in Alrewas has to rate in the top ten of butchers in the UK. We will probably stay on here tomorrow as it is a nice spot and we will pop back to the village to pick up some more bits and pieces from the butchers before we leave. Update Wednesday 24th Went for a walk around Alrewas village with the dogs this morning – some photos below. Popped back to the butcher for a few odds and ends for the freezer. Current Mooring
