Wednesday 5th November 2008 Location: Calcutt, Warwickshire, Grand Union Canal Today: 5 miles, 3 locks. Total distance: 1851 miles. Total locks: 1261 A day of indecisions due to the weather. The day started off with intermittent heavy drizzle and it was a question of should we/should’nt we move. Shortly after returning from a walk up to the village to pick up the papers, we decided to move the 100 yards to the water point to top up then reverse back into the mooring. By the time we filled the tank, our mooring spot had been taken so that made up our minds for us. We headed off in the direction of Warwick, eventually mooring up not too far from Calcutt bottom lock – a nice peaceful spot so there shouldn’t be any problems with fireworks upsetting the dogs tonight. Chas, Ann and Molly on nb MOORE 2 LIFE passed us by this morning, photo below. They came over for a quick chat but were in a hurry to catch the bus into Daventry. I am sure it will not be too long until our paths cross again. We popped into Calcutt marina to see about being able to leave the boat there over Xmas while we pop down to Cornwall and Wiltshire to visit family. We have pencilled in some dates so at least that is sorted out. Very friendly people in the office at Calcutt. We have been on the lookout for wood as our log pile is getting very low. No luck today though. Current Mooring
