Thursday 2nd April 2009 Location: Fenny Compton, Warwickshire, South Oxford Canal Today: 4 miles, 0 locks. Total distance: 2042 miles. Total locks: 1373 The fire went out last night around 11:00, my fault, it was a warm evening and I forgot to keep an eye on it and when I discovered it had gone out I was feeling too lazy to re-light it. Woke up this morning to a cold boat – well, cold by the usual standards, the temperature in the cabin was a cool 14 degrees C, it’s usually up around 18/19 C first thing in the morning. I won’t make the same mistake again for a while….hopefully. Pulled the pins around 10:30 and moved down to Fenny Compton. After lunch, we walked into Fenny village to have a look around and to pick up a few odds and ends at the Co-Op shop. The shop also has a free to use hole in the wall cash machine which is handy as the next nearest cash machine close to the canal is probably Banbury. Current Mooring
The very low foot bridge has now been removed. See next 2 photos
