Moved back down to Braunston today to pick up oil and an oil filter for the engine - still having low oil pressure problems.

A very wet day today, got well and truly soaked.

UPDATE Wednsday 9th
Popped along to the chandlery by the bottom lock and picked up oil and a couple of oil filters.

After draining down the engine and removing the oil filter, I took a look at the oil pressure relief valve as advised by A R Peachment. The spring loaded ball bearing that forms the relief valve was stuck in the open position which would most definitely cause low oil pressure. On poking the ball bearing with a screwdriver, it popped back into the correct position. Fitted the new oil filter, topped up with fresh oil and ran the engine till nice and hot – no sign of low oil pressure any more. I just hope that running the engine on reduced oil pressure for the last ten days hasn’t had too much of an adverse effect on the engine.

We are booked in for blacking at Hillmorton next Monday so will be heading back in that direction in the next day or so.
