Friday 4th April 2008 Location: All Cannings, Wiltshire, Kennet & Avon Canal Today: 10 miles, 2 locks. Total distance: 1285 miles. Total locks: 830 Pulled the pins around 09:00 and continued west. We stopped off at Pewsey Wharf and walked into the village. There quite a few shops including a large Co-Op, a butcher and a lovely bakery in the village. After shopping, we decided to move on out into the countryside. We attempted to moor at several locations west of Pewsey but the canal is just to shallow to get near the bank. Also, we have visitors coming to the boat over the weekend so we wanted a mooring near a road bridge. In the end, we moored up here at All Cannings – a lovely spot with beautiful views over the Wiltshire countryside. We passed nb Epiphany on her moorings at Pewsey – photo below. Saturday 5th Sunday 6th I have had a number of queries about the guestbook no longer being available on this site. The story can be found HERE. A lovely day yesterday. We had a visit from my sister, brother-in-law, niece and my niece’s new baby son Alex (born Feb 21st). It is the first time that we have seen Alex and he is lovely. It was very nice to have everybody visit us. We woke up to a light dusting of snow this morning which was a bit of a surprise being that we are so far south. We walked into the village again with the dogs to pick up the papers – some photos below. John and Fiona on nb Epiphany were moored up behind us last night. It was nice to have the opportunity to have a chat with them. We also had the pleasure of meeting Tony and Pat. They passed by while our family were visiting so we only managed a brief chat. They are currently having their boat built and will be moving onto it when it is ready. Current Mooring
