Pete on coal boats Bletchley and Argus moored up a couple of boats behind us last night so I wandered back to see what price his coal and diesel is currently at. Diesel is 71p per litre and Supertherm coal is £7.50 when buying 10 bags. Before leaving Braunston we reversed back and bought 10 bags of coal and filled up with diesel.
Set off up the Braunston flight then down the Buckby flight. The Buckby flight is quite slow going as the locks are a bit slow to fill and empty. We were also following boats down the Buckby flight so all 7 locks were set against us.
A nice day weather wise, no rain at all – the first dry day for about a week.
