Pulled the pins at 08:00 and headed up through Upper Load lock then turned right onto the river Avon. I decided to moor up below the Avon lock so as not to need to buy an Avon license until I actually needed to. After mooring, I found I had no mobile phone or internet reception so decided to head up through the lock to hopefully better reception conditions.
Locked up onto the Avon, buying a license from the very friendly lock keeper on the way. Moored up on the visitor moorings and now have better mobile reception.
The Avon license costs £45 for one week or £55 for two weeks. I went for the two week option as I do not intend to rush the journey.
